He attended primary school in Split, where he then enrolled in high school. At the beginning of the second year, the family moved to Ljubljana, where France continued his education. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, where he studied painting with Professor Gabrijel Stupica . He graduated in 1949.

He creates in various techniques: gouache, tempera, pastel, drawing, graphics, tapestry and ceramics, and most often creates in the technique of oil and watercolor.

AWARDS

Prešeren Fund Award, 1964 – for a cycle of artistic creations with motifs after the earthquake of destroyed Skopje.
